Sorry it’s been so long since an update! So much has happened since last summer. The response from my book, Bend Food, has been amazing. The restaurants and farmers were incredibly supportive. Many of the restaurants are kind enough to either display a copy of my book or sell books. Wow, my heart is full!
I spent last summer doing book events, interviews, and promotion. Certainly outside my comfort zone, but I did enjoy it. I loved talking about the people in my book and what they’re doing in our local community.
Last winter, I chose not to return working at Mt. Bachelor. It was bittersweet to not work there in the mountain community. I’ve worked there for five years and made many good friends.
My good friend, Karen Brodsky, suggested I apply at Roundabout Bookstore in NorthWest Crossing. I applied and scored the BEST JOB EVER! It’s so much fun, and I love working for a women owner. The job involves making lattes, book-selling, and crafting! I thought learning to pull espresso shots was going to be the hardest part, but it’s harder suggesting the right books for a customer. I’m reading about two books a week, and I feel like I’m always behind in what’s coming out, current titles, and such. I really enjoy chatting with customers!
Stop by and see me sometime!
